Overview

DEC Data Systems develops environmental data acquisition, database management, and control software. The basic DataWise® software suite is able to collect, analyze, and manipulate data from most types of environmental and industrial telemetry currently on the market.

DataWise® software has been extensively implemented throughout the United States and many foreign countries.

Functions being performed include:

Optimization of water usage in large-scale reservoir systems.

Providing flood warnings on small-scale, rapidly responding urban and rural streams.

Environmental monitoring in Road Weather Information Systems (RWIS) using the NTCIP communications protocol.

Monitoring low water crossings for water on road and controlling warning lights and barrier arms.

Acting as a front end data acquisition engine and passing quality checked data on to various other databases.

Real-time data acquisition from multiple sources, including ALERT via radio, ALERT over TCP/IP, GOES via DOMSAT, GOES via DCP Data Service (DDS), GOES via Direct Readout Ground Stations, NTCIP protocol, MODBUS, Allen-Bradley Data Highway, Sutron Standard Protocol, Coastal Environmental CCSAIL, and dial-up to most known environmental data loggers.

While the basic suite provides extensive report generation and graphics, custom programming can be done to incorporate new data acquisition, analysis, and display routines and screens to suit your unique needs.

DEC Data Systems personnel have been working in the data acquisition and control industry for over 35 years, with expertise in meteorology, hydrology, and real-time data acquisition and control. Their hands-on experience also includes hydrologic modeling for watersheds, channel routing, and reservoir management, using the Sacramento Soil Moisture Acounting Model (SSMA) and other watershed models, and various river and reservoir routing models. DEC Data Systems understands the complex system requirements for successful environmental data acquisition and database management.
